Ad campaign launch checklist: Google Ads and Meta

Published October 29, 2026

Every click on a paid ad costs money. If you send visitors to a slow or overly general page, they may leave before they even see your offer. That is why an ad campaign launch checklist should cover not only the campaign itself but also the landing page it leads to, whether you advertise on Google Ads, Facebook or Instagram.

This checklist takes you through the whole journey, from the click to the confirmation of an enquiry. Go through it on a real phone, exactly as a customer would.

1Does the page match the ad?

After the click, visitors should immediately recognise that they have found the promised offer. Imagine a garage advertising a spring air-conditioning service for €59. On the landing page, the visitor should see the same service and price, quickly learn what the service includes and be able to book easily. A general homepage listing every service forces them to search.

If you promote different services, one universal page may not be enough. We cover this in more detail in landing page vs website: where to send ad traffic. For the structure of a page for search campaigns, see what a Google Ads landing page should include.

2Does the page load quickly on mobile?

Do not test the page only on a computer connected to Wi-Fi. Open it on an ordinary phone using mobile data and watch the first few seconds.

Fast loading alone does not guarantee an enquiry. But it gives the visitor a chance to see your offer at all.

3Is the offer clear and the next step obvious?

Once the page opens, people should quickly understand what you offer, who it is for and what to do next. If the ad promises "Bookkeeping for sole traders from €120 a month", the landing page should start with that offer, not with a general slogan.

Choose one main action: send an enquiry, call, or book an appointment. You can repeat the button on a longer page, but its goal should stay the same.

4Does the form work from start to finish?

Actually fill in the form and send a test enquiry. Then check that it reached the right person.

If a name, contact detail and a short message are enough for your first reply, do not ask for the company name, VAT number and more straight away. After submitting, the visitor must see a clear confirmation. If you can promise an approximate reply time, say so.

5Is conversion tracking set up for real results?

The number of clicks does not tell you whether the campaign brings customers. Before launch, check that the main action of the page is measured: form submissions, bookings, orders or taps on the phone number. Also make sure that the traffic source tags, such as UTM parameters, are not lost when visitors land on the page.

Try to find your test enquiry in the campaign reports. Setting up a tracking tool does not automatically mean that data is arriving.

In OAZEE you can connect Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel and Google Ads conversion tracking to your website, and OAZEE switches on the cookie notice automatically.

6Have you gone through the whole journey on a phone?

A responsive page is not automatically comfortable to use. Open it on a phone and follow the path ad → landing page → form → confirmation.

Check that the text is readable, the buttons are large enough, the phone number can be tapped and the form is easy to complete. Notice whether the first screen is overcrowded and whether the cookie banner hides the main action.

7Do consents match the tools you use?

If you use analytics or advertising tools, check that they only run according to the visitor's choice. A cookie banner on its own is not enough. Near the form, there must be easily accessible information about who processes the contact details and for what purpose. The exact setup depends on the tools you use and the rules that apply in your country.

Final checklist before launch

Before you press “Publish campaign”

  • The offer, heading and main button match the ad.
  • The price or main benefit is easy to see.
  • The page opens quickly and works well on mobile.
  • The visitor has one clear main action.
  • A test form submission reaches the right person.
  • A clear confirmation appears after submitting.
  • Tracking of the main action and the traffic source works.
  • Consents and privacy information match the tools you use.
  • You have gone through the whole journey on a real phone.

Launch the campaign only when visitors can easily find the promised offer after clicking and take the next step without obstacles. In OAZEE you can prepare a separate landing page for a specific service or promotion and test it against this list before your ads go live. Prices for plans and extra pages are on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

How long before launch should I run this checklist?

Ideally a day or two before, so that you have time to fix the form or tracking. Run the quick version again right before launch: open the page from the actual ad preview on your phone.

Is the checklist the same for Google Ads and Meta ads?

The principles are the same. With Meta ads, also test the page in the in-app browsers of Facebook and Instagram, because links from the apps often open there rather than in your usual browser.

Do I need a separate landing page for every ad?

No. You need a page where the visitor immediately finds what the ad promised. If your existing page does that, use it.
